Fair 50/50 flip ยท Generated locally in your browser

What is a Coin Flip?

A Coin Flip gives a random Heads or Tails result for quick choices, casual games, classroom prompts, and tie-breakers. This tool runs in your browser, locks the result with secure randomness, then uses the coin animation only to reveal the already selected side.

How It Works

Flip a coin in one tap

  1. Tap the coin

Click the coin or use the Flip Coin button.

  2. Lock the result

Heads or Tails is selected locally before the animation starts.

  3. Watch the flip

The coin toss animation reveals the locked side.

  4. See the result

The final face and result text show Heads or Tails.

  5. Flip again

Run another independent 50/50 flip whenever you need one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about using this tool.

Is the Coin Flip fair? +

Yes. Each flip gives Heads and Tails the same 50/50 chance. The tool does not alternate, correct streaks, or weight one side.

How is Heads or Tails selected? +

The result is selected with the browser crypto API through the PotatoTools secure random helper before the animation starts. It does not use Math.random.

Does the coin animation decide the result? +

No. The animation only reveals the already locked result. Visual toss variation cannot change Heads into Tails or Tails into Heads.

Does flipping again depend on the previous result? +

No. Every flip is independent, so repeated Heads or Tails streaks can happen naturally.

Is anything stored or uploaded? +

No. The flip runs locally in your browser. PotatoTools does not upload, store, or save coin flip results.
